Born in Monterrey, México in 1982. Diana spent her early years amusing herself with pen and paper, drawing mostly dinosaurs and fruit at her grandmother´s painting studio. She set aside her artistic explorations in order to pursue her collegiate studies and acting career in Mexico City (dianagarcia.org). However, when she moved to Los Angeles in 2010 she rediscovered her love for the visual arts.
Diana has been developing a unique take on line drawing, inspired by the human figure and fantastical, animal amalgams. Her multi-perspective approach to representing the human body and unconventional combinations of animals all point to an appreciation of form, both external and internal. They articulate a beauty that is dark, whimsical, and elegantly streamlined.
